Villagers in Katihar Demand Chachari Bridge Construction, Threaten Election Boycott After 25 Years of Broken Promises

In Katihar, villagers from Barsoi Jabatpur are making a strong statement about their needs. They have declared that they will not vote in the upcoming elections unless the Chachari bridge is built over the Mahananda river. They point out that while roads have been built on either side of the river, the problem of crossing the river remains unresolved, creating a significant barrier for daily commuting.

They are determined to stand firm on their decision to boycott the elections until their needs are addressed. Local officials have acknowledged the situation and are now prioritizing the bridge project.
