Violent Clash Over Cigarette Refusal

In the Udawantanagar police station area of Bhojpur district, a dispute arose on Wednesday evening over a kirana shopkeeper’s refusal to sell cigarettes. The altercation escalated to the point where three individuals, including a father and his two sons, were brutally beaten. With the help of locals, the situation was eventually brought under control. The injured parties were identified as Raj Kumar Sah’s 42-year-old son Upendra Singh, his 18-year-old son Pankaj Sah, and his uncle Moti Lal Sah’s 55-year-old son Heera Lal Sah.

Incident Details

According to the injured Upendra Singh, there are two kirana shops in his village. On Tuesday night around 11 pm, intoxicated villagers arrived at the shop and began demanding cigarettes by shouting. As the shop was closed, they started kicking the door. After some time, they left hurling abuses and shouting. The injured parties were admitted to the local hospital for treatment.

Violent Confrontation

As Upendra Singh’s son was carrying goods from the shop located in Musahar Toli village, the aforementioned individuals arrived there and started verbally abusing and physically assaulting them. They threw the goods on the road and began hitting with sticks. When others intervened to save the son, they too were attacked. The situation was eventually diffused with the help of others, and all the injured parties were taken to Ara Sadar Hospital for treatment.

Medical Treatment and Complaint

Dr. Suryakant Nirala confirmed that all the injured parties had been treated, with two individuals undergoing X-rays and CT scans. Following the resolution of the incident, the affected families have filed a complaint regarding the violent clash. The authorities are investigating the matter further.
