In Patna, the capital of Bihar, rain provided relief to the people suffering from the heat until Saturday afternoon. The weather became pleasant after heavy rain in many areas for half an hour in the evening.

Rain forecast in all districts

According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon trough is passing through the Himalayan foothills, while the area of ​​cyclonic circulation is located in the North Bay of Bengal. Thunder, lightning, and light rain are expected in almost all districts of Bihar today.

Light to moderate rainfall has been recorded in some places in the northern and southern parts of Bihar in the last 24 hours. There is a possibility of drizzle and cloudy sky in the surrounding areas including Patna.

Electricity remained disrupted due to rain

A fire broke out in the control panel of Ashok Nagar Power Sub Station before the rain started on Saturday. The underground cable burned, resulting in the closure of Ashok Nagar and Kankarbagh Lohia feeders. Power supply was disrupted in large parts of Kankarbagh. Additionally, a fault in the pin insulator of Bahadurpur 33KV feeder caused a one-hour power supply closure in Bahadur and surrounding areas during the rain. Strong winds also disrupted power supply in many areas.

Capital drenched in torrential rain

The capital experienced heavy rain on Saturday afternoon after days of cloudy skies. The showers provided relief to the people suffering from humidity. The cleaning of the sumps in the capital began as water fell in Rajapur bridge, Mandiri, and Punaichak areas. The sumps were cleaned to ensure water could easily reach the pumps. Only one pump was needed near the Rajapur bridge.
