Many rivers have also seen a rise in water levels. The weather department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain on Tuesday, with monsoon activities expected to continue for the next two to three days. People are urged to stay cautious.
Risk of Thunderstorms Along with Rainfall
IMD Patna has warned that heavy rainfall may occur in all regions of the state on August 6. Thunderstorms may also occur at several places, which could be dangerous. According to the Bihar weather department, heavy rainfall is expected in many districts of Bihar in the next 24 hours. The districts where heavy rain is likely include Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Kaimur, Buxar, and Rohtas. An orange alert has been issued for these districts. There is also a risk of thunderstorms along with rain in these areas. The disaster management department has advised people to stay indoors if work cannot be done, and farmers to stay safe during this period.
Weather Forecast for the Next 24 Hours
The weather department has forecast good rainfall in the northern-western, northern-central, and south-eastern parts of Bihar. This includes districts like West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, and Kishanganj, where heavy rainfall has been warned. Other parts of Bihar are expected to experience normal or light rainfall. Bhagalpur and Munger are also expected to receive moderate rainfall. Heavy rain was reported in the northern-eastern districts of the state by Monday afternoon. Light to moderate rainfall was recorded in other districts, leaving out West Champaran, Sheohar, and Nawada. An increase in maximum temperatures was observed in most parts of the state, including Patna.
