In Patna, the in-laws strangled the daughter of Nalanda to death. The incident took place in the Alawalpur village of Gaurichak police station area. The identity of the deceased has been identified as Pooja Kumari (19), wife of Sachin Kumar, a resident of Alawalpur village in Gaurichak police station area of Patna.

The police say that Sachin Kumar, a resident of Alawalpur village in Gaurichak police station area of Patna, married Pooja Kumari, daughter of Deenanath Kumar, a resident of Nalanda, on May 5, 2023. Pooja Kumari’s relatives say that ever since the marriage, her in-laws often beat her. Many times people tried to explain to them, but Pooja’s in-laws did not listen. Pooja’s relatives say that on Sunday, they received information that their daughter had died. Upon hearing the news of her death, everyone reached there, and her daughter’s body was found at home. Relatives allege that Pooja’s husband Sachin, her mother-in-law Guddiya Devi, father-in-law Shiv Pujan Ravidas, and her siblings strangled their daughter to death. Sachin, Pooja’s husband, says that on Sunday morning, he went out for a morning walk. Upon returning home, he saw that his wife Pooja Kumari had hanged herself.

The Station House Officer, Krishna Kumar, said that a case of murder has been registered by Pooja’s relatives. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the police reached the crime scene and sent the body of the newly married woman for post-mortem to Nalanda Medical College Hospital. However, in this case, the in-laws of the newly married woman claim that she committed suicide. The police are investigating the case.
