उच्चतम सड़क के निर्माण के लिए एनएचएआई द्वारा लगभग 3147 करोड़ रुपये खर्च किए जाएंगे। उच्चतम सड़क के निर्माण के बाद, 23.50 किलोमीटर की यात्रा को सिर्फ 20 मिनट में पूरा किया जा सकेगा। इसमें दानापुर में मौजूदा फ्लायओवर के साथ सीधा संपर्क होगा, जो बिहटा हवाई अड्डे के पास समाप्त होगा। दानापुर स्टेशन के पास एक कट होगा। यह सागुना-दानापुर स्टेशन के बीच बन रही 8 लेन सड़क से जुड़ा होगा, जबकि दूसरा कट भी शिवाला में होगा। यहां भी उच्चतम मार्ग पर चढ़ने और उतरने की सुविधा होगी। जैसे ही लगभग 24 किलोमीटर ऊंची सड़क बनेगी, पटना से हैदरिया (पूर्वांचल एक्सप्रेस) तक की 120 किलोमीटर यात्रा को 2 घंटे में किया जा सकेगा। इसके अलावा, कई अलग-अलग स्थानों तक जाने की दूरी भी कम होगी।
उच्चतम परियोजना पर, बिहटा-सरमेरा हाईवे के पास बिहटा हवाई अड्डे, शिवाला मोड और सागुना मोड से आने वाली वाहनों को दानापुर स्टेशन के पास चार स्थानों पर बोर्ड किया जाएगा। इसके कारण, पटना के सभी इलाकों के लोगों को इस उच्चतम सड़क परियोजना का लाभ मिलेगा। बताया जाता है कि इसे बनाने के लिए एजेंसी भी चयनित की गई है। 10 एजेंसियों में से, सीगल वाईएफसी एजेंसी ने 1969.39 करोड़ रुपये के लिए सबसे कम बोली दी है। कार्य को अगले एक सप्ताह में एजेंसी को सौंपा जाएगा। काम की शुरुआत इस वर्ष के अंत तक होने की संभावना है। यह संभवतः दो और आधे वर्ष में तैयार हो जाएगा, अर्थात सितंबर 2026 तक।
