Tragic Death of a Woman in Nalanda
In Nalanda, a newlywed woman died under suspicious circumstances in her in-laws’ home after 3 years of marriage. The police suspect suicide, while the family alleges murder by the in-laws. The woman, Suhana, was the wife of a locomotive pilot. Her brother claims that she was being harassed for not having children for 3 years and that they even demanded a car from her. She was also subjected to domestic violence.
Events Leading to the Tragedy
According to the police, a week before her death, Suhana insisted on going to Nagpur with her husband. An argument ensued between them on Friday evening, after which she hanged herself in her room. Suhana, also known as Sweetie, was the 24-year-old wife of Ram Anuj Kumar from Dhanuki village.
Marriage and Allegations
Suhana, the daughter of the late Naval Kishore from Mokama in Patna district, got married to Ram Anuj Kumar, the son of Paras Pandit from Dhanuki village, in 2021. The family alleges that she was harassed for not having children and for not meeting the demand for a car. They suspect foul play in her suicide. Her husband works in Nagpur and is returning from there.
Investigation and Aftermath
After Suhana’s death, the grieving family did not file any complaints with the police. The police suspect suicide after their investigation. A week before her death, Ram Anuj Kumar had come home to visit his injured mother. After his leave ended, he returned to Nagpur, with Suhana insisting on accompanying him. The tragic incident occurred the day after their argument.
