Woman Gives Birth to Twin Babies at Gopalganj Sadar Hospital
A woman who arrived to give birth at Gopalganj Sadar Hospital delivered twin babies. Unfortunately, she passed away during the treatment after childbirth. This led to a commotion as relatives accused the doctors and health workers of negligence.
Identification of the Deceased
The deceased was identified as Prabhavati Devi, a 35-year-old resident of Gangasagar in Gauraha Nayaka Tola village in the Taraiya Sujan Thana area of Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. Her husband, Jay Prakash Prasad God, revealed that she had come to deliver her babies after experiencing labor pains two months earlier in Kuchayakot, Ward No. 7 of the Kuchayakot Thana area.
Medical Negligence Allegations
Prabhavati was admitted to the maternity ward of the hospital where she gave birth to the twin babies. However, her condition remained critical. Relatives claimed that despite her deteriorating condition, the nursing staff present at the scene continued to be negligent. The doctor did not conduct any checkups, and despite continuous shouting, no action was taken.
Investigation and Action
Civil Surgeon Dr. Beirendra Prasad stated that no complaints had been received yet, but once a complaint is lodged, the matter will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken. The family alleged that despite paying a significant amount for the treatment, proper care was not provided, leading to the unfortunate death of Prabhavati Devi.
