Woman Murdered in Bettiah
In Bettiah, a woman was murdered by her brother-in-law while she was sleeping at home with her two innocent children. The incident took place in the Majharia Sheikh Ward No. 5 area of Majhaulia police station. The police arrived at the scene and identified the victim as Asha Devi, the 28-year-old wife of Ramraj Mukhiya.
Arrest of the Accused
The accused, brother-in-law Dharmaraj Mukhiya, has been arrested by the police and is currently being interrogated. He surrendered himself at the police station after committing the crime. The family members of the woman have requested for an FIR to be filed and for action to be taken against the culprit.
Family Background
The victim, Asha Devi, got married in 2019 and has a three-year-old son named Prince Kumar and a one-year-old daughter named Priyanka Kumari. Her husband has been in Dubai for the past year. After the incident, the family members of the woman are in tears, grieving the loss of their loved one.
Repeated Complaints Ignored
It was reported that the accused, Dharmaraj Mukhiya, had attempted to establish an inappropriate relationship with the victim multiple times, which she had refused. He had also physically assaulted her on several occasions. The woman had filed complaints against him with the police twice before, but no action was taken. On Monday night, the accused made another attempt to force himself on her, leading to the tragic murder.
