The continuous increase in vegetable prices in the market is proving to be beneficial for women like Anju. She started farming by taking a loan from Jeevika and is now earning good income.
Successful Vegetable Farming by Anju Devi
Anju Devi, a female farmer, cultivates vegetables on 4-5 acres of land. The annual expenditure for this farming is around 1.5-2 lakhs. She mainly cultivates green vegetables, including okra, eggplant, pointed gourd, cauliflower, and chili. She harvests vegetables from the field every 5-6 days and sells them, earning a profit of 10-15 thousand rupees per week. Through vegetable farming, Anju has improved her family’s financial situation, ensured good education for her children, and no longer needs to rely on others for financial support.
