Police Investigation Begins
In the village of Rahiyar in the Shivaji Nagar police station area of Samastipur district, a young man’s body was found hanging from a tree on Tuesday morning. The young man has been identified as Sunny Choudhary, son of the late Jagdish Choudhary, a resident of Parshamma village in the Biraul police station area of Darbhanga district. Sunny had been living with his in-laws for the past 20 days. The Shivaji Nagar police station team reached the spot upon receiving information and took the body into custody for post-mortem at the district hospital.
Troubled Marriage Leads to Tragic End
Sunny’s uncle, Baldev Sahni, revealed that both his sister and brother-in-law had passed away. Sunny had gotten married just six months ago, but his relationship with his wife had deteriorated. His wife did not want to live with him, causing Sunny a lot of stress. He was sent to Odisha to earn a living about a month ago but returned within 15 days. On the day of Nag Panchami, he visited his in-laws’ village and started selling ice cream on the streets.
Struggles with Addiction and Mental Health
It has been reported that after returning from Odisha, Sunny stayed in Biraul for about 5 days before arriving at his in-laws’ village on Nag Panchami. He had started selling ice cream in the past week. Due to strained relations with his family, he had become addicted to substances and was always in an intoxicated state. Sunny had previously attempted suicide by electrocution, but he was saved. Unfortunately, this time he was not as lucky.
Police Case Filed
The president of the Shivaji Nagar police station, Chotelal Singh, stated that the young man had committed suicide by hanging from a mango tree. The police team has sent the body for post-mortem at the district hospital and has filed a case regarding the incident.
