In a tragic incident near Balha village in the Rohtas district, a young man named Shankar Das (35) lost his life after being hit by a tractor on Sunday night. The driver of the tractor fled the scene after the accident, causing a traffic jam on the Balha-Rohtas road. The police arrived at the scene and calmed the situation late into the night, before taking the body for postmortem to Sadar Hospital.

Shankar Das, who was from Rohtas, was walking towards Balha when a tractor coming from the opposite direction hit him, resulting in his immediate death. The tractor, loaded with grain, was being driven by a person who abandoned the vehicle and ran away. The news of the incident spread quickly, leading to a gathering of people at the site and a two-hour traffic jam that was eventually resolved by the authorities.
Police Investigation and Response
The local police officer, Aftab Alam, confirmed that the young man’s death was caused by the tractor accident. The police officer arrived at the scene and managed to calm down the agitated crowd, ensuring that the body was taken to the hospital for further procedures. The tractor driver remains at large, and the situation has been brought under control with the help of local interventions.
