Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) construction work is progressing rapidly for the four stations in the second phase of the corridor. All stations are expected to be ready by March. The construction work for Muradnagar station is in its final phase. The Namo Bharat train is scheduled to run from Duhai to Merath South station in March this year. The 25-kilometer section includes Muradnagar, Modinagar South, Modinagar North, and Merath South stations. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has expedited the work at the stations, including the installation of lifts and platform screen doors.
Muradnagar station will have four lifts installed. The station is 215 meters long and 25 meters wide. Currently, the station’s work is in its final phase, with the construction of both road and entrance gates underway. The station will have four lifts and six escalators. To avoid inconvenience for passengers, the station will be connected to the Muradnagar bus depot.
The construction work for Merath South station is progressing swiftly. The station is 215 meters long and 36 meters wide, situated 22 meters above the ground. The station will have a ground level, concourse, and platform level. This station will provide convenience for people residing in nearby areas such as Mohiuddinpur, Kharkhauda, and Kadarabad. It will be the first station in Merath for those coming from Ghaziabad.
Both Modinagar South and North stations have taken shape. The construction of the concourse and platform levels at Modinagar South station has been completed. The casting of the concourse and platform levels at Modinagar North station has also been completed. Gates will be installed on both sides of the station for entry and exit. To reach the concourse level from ground level, there will be two escalators and one lift in each.
Puneet Vats, the Chief Public Relations Officer of NCRTC, stated that work is progressing rapidly at the four stations of the corridor’s second phase. The stations are expected to be ready by March. Currently, testing of the Namo Bharat train is being conducted on this section, he added.
In Merath, the eastern dedicated freight corridor has been constructed at a height of 22 meters above the ground level. This 82-kilometer long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Merath corridor will have a unique feature where the rail will pass over the road, and the Namo Bharat train will pass over the rail.
भारत में रैपिड रेल ट्रांजिट सिस्टम (आरआरटीएस) के दूसरे खंड के चार स्टेशनों का निर्माण तेजी से हो रहा है। मुरादनगर स्टेशन का काम अंतिम चरण में पहुंच गया है और मार्च तक सभी स्टेशन तैयार हो जाएंगे। मुरादनगर स्टेशन पर चार लिफ्ट और छह एस्केलेटर लगाए जाएंगे ताकि यात्रियों को सुविधा मिल सके। मेरठ साउथ स्टेशन का निर्माण कार्य भी तेजी से हो रहा है और यह स्टेशन मोहिउद्दीनपुर, खरखौदा, कादराबाद समेत आसपास के इलाकों में रहने वाले लोगों को आवागमन में सुविधा प्रदान करेगा। मोदीनगर साउथ और नॉर्थ स्टेशनों का भी निर्माण कार्य पूरा हो गया है। इसी कॉरिडोर पर रेल डेडिकेटेड फ्रेट कॉरिडोर भी बनाया जा रहा है। यह एक महत्वपूर्ण पहल है जो देश के यातायात को बेहतर बनाने के लिए की जा रही है।
