Delhi News: Regional Rail Transit System (RRTS) is set to implement a multi-modal integration plan for better connectivity between Sarai Kale Khan, Nizamuddin Railway Station, Metro Station, and ISBT. This will be Delhi’s second largest skywalk and will provide convenient travel options for commuters. The proposal has been modified after receiving feedback and comments from various departments in a meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary of the Public Works Department of the Delhi Government. It is said to be the second largest skywalk in Delhi after ITPO W-Point.
Sarai Kale Khan RRTS station will become the largest transport hub in the future, connecting Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. It will not only serve the Delhi-Meerut corridor but also the Delhi-Panipat and Delhi-SNB (Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror) rapid trains. The station is rapidly taking shape.
The distance between Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station and Sarai Kale Khan RRTS station is approximately 280 meters, which will be connected through a foot overbridge (FOB). Normally, travelators are available for distances of 500 meters or more, but in this case, six travelators will be provided on the FOB, similar to the facilities at airports. This will be particularly beneficial for women, elderly, children, people with disabilities, and those carrying heavy luggage.
The ISBT will be approximately 85 meters away from the Sarai Kale Khan RRTS station. To ensure convenience for commuters, the entry and exit of the RRTS station will be designed near ISBT, with the construction of a foot overbridge for entry into ISBT.
The distance between the Sarai Kale Khan RRTS station and Delhi Metro Pink Line station is approximately 70 meters. To prioritize the convenience of passengers, the entry gate of the Sarai Kale Khan RRTS station will be located near the entrance gate of Hazrat Nizamuddin Metro Station on the Pink Line. The station will also have a public plaza inside.
