Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is soon set to fulfill the desire of reducing travel time. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has put emphasis on completing the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway at the earliest. Once the project is completed, the journey from Delhi to Dehradun will take just two and a half hours. Currently, it takes six hours to reach Dehradun from Delhi. The construction of an 80% complete elevated road is the highlight of the project.
The final stretch of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, which is a 12-kilometer-long elevated road in the Dehradun region, is more than 80% complete. The remaining part is expected to be completed by March 2024. The biggest attraction of the project is the 12-kilometer-long elevated road from Saharanpur’s Ganeshpur area to Dehradun. Once constructed, vehicles will pass through the elevated road, while the lower section will be reserved for wildlife conservation.
According to NHAI officials, the construction of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is divided into 11 packages covering a total of 213 kilometers. Various project offices of the authority are overseeing the work. The project is expected to be completed between March 2024 and November 2024, depending on the different packages.
Another significant aspect of this expressway project is the connection it provides to important locations such as Badrinath-Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border, crossing on May 15; EPE crossing-Saharanpur Bypass, crossing on March 31; Saharanpur Bypass-Ganeshpur Access Control, crossing on July 2; and Ganeshpur-Dehradun, crossing on March 31.
भारतीय राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग प्राधिकरण (एनएचएआई) ने दिल्ली-देहरादून एक्सप्रेसवे के निर्माण को जल्दी पूरा करने का फैसला किया है। इस परियोजना का अंतिम चरण देहरादून क्षेत्र में लगभग 12 किमी लंबी एलिवेटेड रोड का निर्माण हो चुका है। इससे दिल्ली से देहरादून तक का सफर महज ढाई घंटे में पूरा हो जाएगा। यह परियोजना मार्च 2024 तक पूरी होने की उम्मीद है। इस एक्सप्रेसवे पर बने एलिवेटेड रोड से वाहनों को गुजरने की अनुमति होगी, जबकि निचले हिस्से का उपयोग वन्यजीवों के लिए किया जाएगा। प्रोजेक्ट का काम विभिन्न पैकेजों में बांटकर मार्च 2024 से नवंबर 2024 के बीच पूरा होगा।
