Delhi Expressway: The National Capital Region of Delhi is set to welcome the new year with happiness. In order to strengthen road connectivity, vehicles will start running on 3 expressways and 6-lane connectors by 2024. This will reduce the daily traffic congestion of over 1 million vehicles on the inner roads of Delhi-NCR.
Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Connector: Currently, to reach the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, one has to cross the entire Delhi and Gurugram. However, by 2024, Delhi will be directly connected to it through a 60-kilometer long connector. Its completion in August will provide significant relief to commuters.
Seamless Traffic Flow: The construction of a 75-kilometer long urban expansion road from Gurugram Border to Singhu Border, via Dwarka and Najafgarh, is almost 80% complete and will open for traffic by July 2024. This road will provide direct connectivity to the IGI Airport, allowing travelers to reach Delhi Airport without getting stuck in traffic jams at Singhu Border and Faridabad.
Relief from Traffic Jams: The construction of a flyover connecting Anand Vihar to Apsara Border will be completed by April, providing a 6-lane flyover and relieving commuters from the hassle of stopping at 2 red lights. The underpass connecting Ring Road to Bhairav Marg will be completed in the second month of next year. This underpass will alleviate the traffic pressure at the Pragati Maidan Tunnel and provide relief to over 100,000 vehicles traveling from New Delhi to Ring Road daily.
Improvement at Gurugram Border: Currently, the Delhi-Gurugram Border is the biggest traffic congestion point. However, the Dwarka Expressway, which is under construction as a bypass for the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway, will be completed before May 2024 to reduce traffic congestion. This 29-kilometer long, four-lane expressway will reduce the daily traffic of around 300,000 vehicles on the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway.
The expressway will start from Shiv Murti Chowk at the Delhi border, pass through the airport and Dwarka, enter Haryana border, and finally end at Khedki Daula Toll Plaza on the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway.
