Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Link Road and KGP Expressway: Today is the first day of the new year, and the city is preparing to receive many gifts. Some have already been completed, while some are still in progress. These gifts will enhance the convenience and ease for the people and also save time. Let’s find out more about them.
Noida will become more accessible in the new year. The long-awaited Manjhawali Bridge project will be completed and handed over to the public. This bridge has been under construction since 2014. Under this project, a 630-meter long bridge has been built over the Yamuna River. Additionally, 24 kilometers of roads will be constructed in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. The road from Nachauli to Manjhawali in Faridabad will be widened. The approach road and widening of the road from the bridge to the city, approximately 900 meters across the Yamuna River, are still pending. The construction of the approach road and widening of the road is underway, and officials claim that traffic will start passing through the bridge by March.
The road between the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Link Road and KGP Expressway will also be completed. The Ballabhgarh-Mohana road, which connects the two expressways, is being converted into a four-lane road. The work on this four-lane road will also be completed in the new year, providing a smooth road connection to both expressways. The 12-kilometer long road starts from Chandawali village and goes through Machhgar, Dayalpur, and Atali, ending at KGP. This road is the only road that connects the KGP Expressway to the city of Faridabad. Thousands of vehicles traveling from Faridabad to Palwal, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Meerut, and Sonipat use this road. Vehicles also use this road to reach KGP from Delhi to avoid the crowded areas. The construction of the road was started by the Haryana State Road and Bridge Development Corporation in November.
Multi-level car parking will be introduced in Old Faridabad. The maximum problem in Old Faridabad market and its surrounding areas is the lack of car parking. To address this issue, four years ago, the Smart City Limited proposed the construction of a multi-level car parking. The work on this project started in May and is 80% complete. The construction work of the multi-level car parking is underway on a 1-acre land in Old Faridabad. It can accommodate 101 cars at once. According to officials of the Smart City, the multi-level car parking will be dedicated to the public in 2024.
There is a toll plaza in Bandhwari Village on the Gurugram-Faridabad Expressway, operated by the BPCL. Currently, the toll plaza is not integrated with the NHAI tag system. This leads to daily traffic jams on this expressway. Sometimes, there is a jam for up to one hour at the peak hours. To tackle this situation, the BPCL has planned to integrate it with the NHAI tag system. According to officials, it will be integrated with the tag system by February.
