Good news for residents of Noida, located in the National Capital Region of Delhi! The 643-meter long flyover, stretching from the Sarai Kale Khan T-station in Delhi to Noida, is expected to be completed soon. According to media reports, Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, may inaugurate it on Sunday, October 22nd. This three-lane flyover will provide relief from the daily traffic jams and enable people to reach Noida from Delhi, and vice versa, in less time.
In addition, the Sarai Kale Khan junction in Delhi will become signal-free, eliminating the traffic congestion caused by the presence of Lal Batti cars near the station. According to media reports, the flyover is almost complete, and the Public Works Department has sent a proposal to the Chief Minister for its inauguration. The opening of this flyover will make commuting from South Delhi to Noida smoother and more convenient.
Officials from the Public Works Department claim that the end of traffic congestion will reduce carbon emissions by five tonnes per day. In other words, with reduced pollution, people will be able to reach their destinations in less time. This will also result in lower fuel consumption. The Public Works Department estimates an annual savings of 19 crore rupees in the budget allocated for pollution reduction. Moreover, the flyover will make it easier for the millions of people residing in Delhi and Noida, Uttar Pradesh, to travel between the two cities.
