Rapid Rail from Ghaziabad to Jewar is set to be connected through the Nammo Bharat Train (Rapid Rail). The survey has already begun, along with soil testing, layout planning for stations, and track determination. Both the Rapid Rail and Metro will run on this track.
The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) will present a detailed project report by March. The Noida Airport will be connected through the Rapid Rail. The feasibility report for this has already been prepared by NCRTC. This route will connect Ghaziabad, Greater Noida West, and Yamuna Expressway Authority. According to the feasibility report, there will be 12 stations in the 72.2 km long corridor. The Rapid Rail will run along the Aqua Line at Pari Chowk. The cost of the first phase of the corridor from Ghaziabad to Kasna will be Rs 9,798 crore. The cost of the second phase from Kasna to the airport will be Rs 6,391 crore. The central government will bear 20% of the cost, while the state government will contribute 50%. The remaining amount will be provided by YEIDA and Greater Noida Authority.
Officials from NCRTC recently presented the progress of the project to officials from Yamuna Authority. They mentioned that surveys have started for preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR). Soil testing is being conducted to determine the location of stations, pillars, etc. The layout for the stations will also be determined based on this. Track determination is also underway. Metro will also run on this track. The NCRTC team is collecting data for preparing the DPR. NCRTC officials will present the DPR in February, and Authority officials will provide their suggestions.
