The parcel houses at Gonda station, located in the North Eastern Railway, handle a large number of bookings on a daily basis. This service has proven to be very useful for business travelers and the general public alike.
The amount of parcels received at these houses is often more than what is sent out. According to railway officials, sometimes the operation of trains affects the bookings at the parcel houses. However, the information is communicated to the arriving businessmen in a timely manner.
SK Mishra, the Divisional Commercial Manager, explains that this arrangement has been made for the convenience of passengers and consumers. All bookings will now be done online, making it easier for users to track the status of their parcels. The booking for parcels to be sent outside the region is also done here. Additionally, a large number of people from Basti and Ayodhya also come to book their goods at the Gonda station for various locations.
In addition to Gonda, people from Shravasti, Balrampur, and other nearby areas also come to the parcel houses to book their packets for delivery to various destinations. This attracts a large number of travelers to these locations.
