Mumbai Trans Harbour Link: India’s Largest Sea Bridge
The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) is set to become India’s largest sea bridge, connecting the suburbs of Worli and Bandra in Mumbai. The new bridge will be approximately four times longer than the current Bandra-Worli Sea Link. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the bridge next week.
Reduced Travel Time
With the completion of the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, the journey that currently takes two hours will be completed in just 35 minutes. Vehicles will be able to travel at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour on the sea bridge.
Inauguration by Prime Minister
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link on January 12th. The construction of the country’s largest sea bridge is almost complete, and the Prime Minister himself will hand over this mega project to the nation. The bridge spans a length of 21.8 kilometers, making it the longest sea bridge in the country, nearly four times longer than the current Bandra-Worli Sea Link.
Easier Access to Airport and Pune
The completion of the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link project will not only make travel between South Mumbai and Navi Mumbai easier but also provide convenient access to the airport and the Mumbai-Pune Expressway in Navi Mumbai. Vehicles will be able to travel at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour on the bridge, and it is estimated that approximately 70,000 vehicles will pass through it daily. The total cost of the project is 17,843 crore rupees.
Toll Tax Charges
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has not yet disclosed the toll tax charges for the bridge. However, it is estimated that toll charges may range from 250 to 300 rupees. Earlier, there were reports of a toll tax of 500 rupees at each entry point, but the Maharashtra government opposed this, stating that it was too high for the common man. Therefore, there might be a reduction of up to 50% in toll charges.
मुंबई में भारत का सबसे बड़ा समुद्री पुल, मुंबई ट्रांस हार्बर लिंक (एमटीएचएल), बनकर तैयार हो गया है। इस पुल का उद्घाटन अगले हफ्ते पीएम नरेंद्र मोदी करेंगे। इस पुल की लंबाई पुराने से 4 गुना ज्यादा होगी और यात्रा करने में सिर्फ 35 मिनट लगेंगे। इस पुल से वाहन 100 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार से गुजर सकेंगे। इस पुल के बनने से मुंबई से नवी मुंबई, एयरपोर्ट और पुणे जाना बहुत आसान हो जाएगा। इस पुल पर लगने वाले टोल टैक्स का खुलासा अभी नहीं हुआ है, लेकिन अनुमान है कि टोल टैक्स 250 से 300 रुपये तक हो सकता है।
