NCR Railway News: Uttar Madhya Railway (NCR) is planning to modernize railway tracks in order to increase the speed of trains. A budget of 860 crores has been approved for NCR for this project. The tracks on the Delhi-Howrah and Delhi-Mumbai routes will be upgraded. NCR has been allocated a budget of 11,321.94 crores for this year, which is the highest so far, exceeding last year’s budget by 366 crores.
The Modi government has opened its treasury for NCR in the interim budget this year. The main focus is on mission speed. The railway is preparing to increase the maximum speed of trains on the Delhi-Howrah route to 160 km per hour by the end of this year. Work is being done to improve the basic infrastructure here. Currently, the maximum speed of trains on the Prayagraj division’s Delhi-Howrah route is 130 km per hour. This section has the highest train load between Prayagraj and DDU, so a third line is being laid here.
In addition, there will be rapid progress in the construction of a 10 km long fourth railway line between Prayagraj and Bhaupuruli. The target is to complete the work by December. Currently, a budget of 11,321.94 crores has been allocated by the center for North Central Railways for various projects in 2024-25.
Last year, it received a budget of 10,955.5 crores. The allocations are as follows: 590.00 crores for order modification, 3,669.14 crores for doubling, 1,294.91 crores for passenger amenities, 545.94 crores for road safety works, 169.75 crores for bridge works, 460.00 crores for signaling works, and 226.81 crores for electrification. Additionally, 37.73 crores are allocated for employee welfare works and 951.81 crores for consumer facilities.
