Relief from traffic congestion in several cities, including Jaipur, as well as district headquarters, will be provided with the opening of the Delhi Mumbai Expressway. Jaipur has several railway gates such as Tonk Gate, Civil Lines Gate, Amli Gate, Mahesh Nagar Gate, Kartarpura Gate, and Khatipura, where traffic jams frequently occur. The construction of ROBs or RUBs (Delhi Jaipur Super Expressway or Aryubi) on all these railway gates will provide relief to the public. Districts including Bikaner, Jodhpur, Udaipur, and Bharatpur also face heavy inconvenience due to railway gates.
Completion of remaining half portion of Ring Road in Jaipur
Gadkari has stated that the work on ring road projects will be completed in major cities of Rajasthan, including Jaipur. He claimed that half of the work on the ring road in Jaipur has already been completed and approval has been given for the remaining work, which will also be finished.
Ring Road project stuck during Vasundhara Raje’s time, I took up the work
“We are constructing ring roads in major cities of Rajasthan, as mentioned by the Chief Minister. I remember when Vasundhara Raje was the Chief Minister. The work on the ring road in Jaipur was stuck. The possibility of completing the Jaipur Ring Road was bleak. At that time, I called for a meeting in the hangar of the airport in a small guesthouse. Officers from NHAI, Rajasthan officials, and contractors were all invited. When I was discussing, the officials from Rajasthan said it was impossible. Vasundhara told me that everyone is saying this work cannot be done. I told Vasundhara Raje that it will be done. What do you have to do with it? When I said that this work will be done, she took up the responsibility of completing the ring road. The remaining Jaipur Ring Road, which we have approved, will also be completed,” Gadkari said.
Electric buses to run between Jaipur and Delhi like trains
Gadkari mentioned that he recently visited Prague, Czech Republic, where there was a cable above the road with an electric bus running on it. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is being connected to Jaipur and will be built as an electric highway. After that, electric buses will be operated between Jaipur and Delhi, similar to trains.
These buses will be like trains, with lower fares
Gadkari stated that electricity cables will be laid over the road, similar to railway tracks. Then, three buses will be connected like train coaches and operated as electric buses. The buses will have amenities like planes, business class category, and tea-breakfast services. The fare for these buses will be 30% lower than diesel buses running on roads. It is noteworthy that the operation of electric buses between Delhi and Jaipur has already begun.
