Ring Road: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced in a tweet that the Urban Extension Road-II, a 6-lane controlled-access highway, is 75 kilometers long. It will connect Gurugram and NH-44 to North, West, and Southwest Delhi, as well as Sonipat and Bahadurgarh Bypass.
Third Ring Road for Delhi: Delhi residents have received good news as they will soon have a third ring road. The nearly completed 75-kilometer long Urban Extension Road-II project will run from Alipur in North Delhi to Mahipalpur. The project is expected to commence soon.
Improved Connectivity and Time Savings: With the completion of the Ring Road, traffic congestion on the Bypass, Inner/Outer Ring Road, Dhaula Kuan, Rohatak Road, and NH-4 will be reduced. This road will make travel between Gurugram and IGI Airport easier and save travel time. People coming from Punjab and Haryana currently take around two hours to reach the airport, but with the completion of the Ring Road, the journey will be completed in 20-30 minutes.
Master Plan for Delhi: The Ring Road is part of Delhi’s master plan, and a proposed six-lane road project in 2021 is also aimed at reducing congestion on the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway and the existing Ring Road. The construction of UER-II has been done using tons of active waste.
