Vande Bharat Express, also known as the Train 18, is set to connect the country with Kashmir through the Udhampur-Banihal rail link, which is in its final phase of completion and is expected to be fully operational next year. The construction work to connect Kashmir with rail is underway, with the train already reaching Katra and the railway tracks from Baramulla in Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region already laid.

The Udhampur-Banihal rail link, which is in its final phase of completion to connect the country with Kashmir, has been prepared for running trains by the central government, and the Railway Board has placed an order for the rack of the semi-high-speed Vande Bharat train for the route of Chennai’s rail coach factory.

It is clear that once the construction is completed, modern Vande Bharat trains will start running on this route. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for issuing orders on Tuesday to run trains on this route. Currently, Vande Bharat is running from Delhi to Katra.

The work to connect Kashmir with rail is underway, with the train already reaching Katra and the railway tracks from Baramulla in Kashmir to Banihal in the Jammu region already laid. Currently, the construction work of a 111 km railway line from Katra to Banihal is in progress. Most of this section is being constructed through bridges and tunnels. The world’s highest railway bridge and India’s longest tunnel have been constructed on this route. The government’s efforts are aimed at connecting Kashmir to the country through the rail route as soon as possible. The Railway Board has issued orders to the Chennai factory on Tuesday to run six Vande Bharat Express trains, one of which is for the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw have been thanked for announcing the operation of the 49th Vande Bharat train between Udhampur and Baramulla. This will bring about better changes in the region in the coming times. The decision of the Railway Ministry also indicates that action is being taken to dedicate the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link to the country soon.

After the completion of the rail link, traveling in Kashmir will become comfortable. Once the Vande Bharat Express starts, the journey from Jammu to Srinagar will be completed in three hours. Currently, it takes about six hours by road if everything is normal. This train will pass through the world’s highest arch bridge, which is more than 1,000 feet high and 1,315 meters long. It is being said that the coaches of the train that will go to Kashmir are equipped with a heating system to prevent the water lines from freezing in winters. The maximum speed of the train will be 180 km per hour.
