Vaishali-Paraukhas Railway: The plan to start local trains between Vaishali and Paraukhas is gaining momentum. The speed trial of the newly constructed Vaishali-Paraukhas rail section under the Hajipur-Sugauli new rail line project will take place on January 23. The railway line is 16 km long and will also be inspected by the Eastern Circle, Kolkata, in January. The local people have been advised to stay away from the railway lines during the speed trial and inspection, and it has been made clear that the railway administration will not be held responsible for any accidents resulting from the negligence of this notice.
Permission from CRS for Train Operation: After the trial, once permission is granted by the CRS (Commissioner of Railway Safety), the trains will start operating on this rail section. It is said that there will be an acceleration in the remaining part of the project. The construction of a 16 km long railway line between the two stations has been completed. This will benefit the people of Saraiya, Parau, Sahibganj, and some areas of neighboring Chhapra district. The distance from Sonpur Junction to Vaishali is 41 km, and with the operation starting till Parau, the railway line will become 60 km long.
Rack of Astha Express reaches Bhagalpur, Ayodhya train on January 29: According to information received from Bhagalpur, the Astha Express will run from a local railway station to Ayodhya between January 29 and March 2, 2024. Preparations are in full swing. The rack of 22 bogies for Astha Express has arrived in Bhagalpur and has been parked near the Sahebganj railway station. All the coaches are sleepers. Senior DNEE of Malda Division, S.K. Tiwari, arrived in Bhagalpur and inspected the preparations of the train. It is said that a mandap will also be set up in the station premises on January 29. IRCTC is making the arrangements, and food and water will also be provided on the train.
Increased Security at Railway Stations with Trains: On the other hand, special vigilance is being maintained in the trains due to the inauguration of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya on Monday. Additional police surveillance is also being carried out at railway stations. The Railway Police Superintendent has given strict instructions to the GRP to stop anyone suspicious and gather complete information from them. Sniffer dog checking campaigns are being conducted at the Ara Junction and Bihia stations.
