Wildlife Corridor on Delhi Dehradun Expressway: A special wildlife corridor is being created on the Delhi Dehradun Expressway in India. Spanning 12 kilometers, this corridor will pass through dense forests, allowing travelers to witness various animals including tigers and elephants.

Designing of the Wildlife Corridor on Delhi Dehradun Expressway: The design of the wildlife corridor on the Delhi Dehradun Expressway has been jointly prepared by NHAI (National Highways Authority of India) and the Indian Wildlife Institute. This green corridor between Delhi and Dehradun is in its final phase of construction. Once completed, the journey from Delhi to Dehradun will take only two and a half hours.

Expressway through Rajaji National Park: Authorities of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) have stated that the wildlife corridor in Uttarakhand will be completed. The corridor, adjacent to Rajaji National Park, will allow free movement of animals. The most significant aspect is that this project on the Delhi Dehradun Expressway will be the largest wildlife corridor in Asia, spanning over 12 kilometers.

Features of the Wildlife Corridor: The wildlife corridor will have a six-lane structure supported by single pillars. Single pillars are being used in construction to reduce the use of concrete in the forest area. A total of 571 pillars will be constructed for this corridor, with a distance of 21 meters between each pillar.

Impact and Cost of the Expressway: It is estimated that 20,000 to 30,000 vehicles pass through the six-lane corridor daily. This corridor will connect Delhi to Saharanpur via Dehradun. The construction of the expressway is expected to cost around 13,000 crore rupees. The completion of the Delhi Dehradun Expressway will make it easier for people from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to travel to Mussoorie, Dehradun, and Haridwar. Additionally, it will promote economic development in the areas through which the expressway passes.
