Gold Rate Today: Prices of Gold and Silver Continue to Fall

Gold and silver prices have been experiencing a continuous decline in recent days. On Thursday, both the bullion market and the multi-commodity exchange witnessed a decline in the prices. In the previous session, gold closed at Rs 58,000 per 10 grams and silver closed at Rs 68,000.

Gold Prices Fall on MCX

The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) saw a decline in gold and silver prices on Thursday. Gold fell by Rs 112 to Rs 58,976 per 10 grams, while silver fell by Rs 292 to Rs 72,180 per kg. The closing prices on MCX for Wednesday were Rs 59,088 for gold and Rs 72,472 for silver.

How Much Drop in the Price of Gold in the Bullion Market Today?

According to the India Bullion and Jewelers Association (IBJA), gold and silver prices fell on Thursday. Gold fell by Rs 200 to Rs 59,125 per 10 grams, and silver fell by Rs 900 to Rs 71,180 per kg. The previous day’s prices were Rs 59,329 for gold and Rs 72,065 for silver. The price of 22 carat gold on Thursday was Rs 48,250 per 10 grams, while 24 carat gold was priced at Rs 48,200 per 10 grams.

How Much Cheaper is Gold Today Than the Highs?

Gold prices are currently Rs 2,460 per 10 grams cheaper than the all-time high. The highest price was recorded on May 11, 2023, when gold reached Rs 61,585 per 10 grams. Silver opened at Rs 71,180 per kg and closed at Rs 72,065 per kg, indicating a decrease of Rs 885 per kg.
