International wrestling matches took place at Nadwan village in Patna district on Friday, April 3, 2026. The event was held at the ancestral home of former MLA Anant Singh to honor the memory of his cousin uncle and former Bihar Kesari Vivekanand Singh. Local and international wrestlers from countries like Iran and Georgia participated in this grand tournament. Indian wrestlers performed exceptionally well and defeated the visiting Iranian champions in front of a massive crowd.

Who won the international matches at Nadwan Dangal?

The highlight of the event was the high-stakes match between Jonty Gurjar from Delhi and Jalal from Iran. Jonty Gurjar emerged victorious and received the winner cup after a tough fight. Similarly, Shiva Pahalwan from Maharashtra defeated the Iranian wrestler Hamid. This tournament brought together talent from various Indian states including Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Anant Singh stated that the goal of this dangal was to showcase international techniques to local youth and build a wrestling legacy in the region. Iranian wrestler Jalal also expressed his happiness and praised the patience of the Bihar audience.

Special arrangements and prize money for the wrestlers

The organizers distributed approximately 51 lakh rupees among 101 participating wrestlers. Preparing the wrestling ground was a massive task that took seven days of work using JCB machines. Special care was taken to prevent injuries to the participants by mixing natural ingredients into the soil.
