The Bihar Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department surpassed its revenue collection target for the financial year 2025-26 by collecting a total of ₹8,403.46 crore. The department achieved 101.86 percent of its ₹8,250 crore target, marking a 9.86 percent growth over the previous fiscal year. This increase is largely attributed to the state government decision to keep registry offices functional on Sundays and specific holidays during the final months of the financial year to facilitate public services.

Employees who worked on these extra days were granted compensatory leave on other weekdays to maintain workforce balance.
