The Bihar government has taken a strict stance against revenue officers who are currently on strike in Patna. Out of 69 officers who went on strike, 30 have already returned to their duties. Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has issued a final warning, stating that the remaining officers must resume work by the evening of March 31. If they fail to meet this deadline, the government will proceed with their permanent dismissal from service.
What is the Deadline and Consequence for Striking Officers?
The government has fixed a clear deadline to ensure that administrative work is not hampered anymore. Vijay Kumar Sinha mentioned that the officers have until the evening of March 31 as their last chance. Those who do not join back by the stipulated time will face certain dismissal. Currently, 563 revenue officers are already performing their duties, and the government is preparing to fill any gaps left by the strikers to maintain order in the department.
How Will This Impact Public Services and Circle Offices?
To prevent any inconvenience to the common man, the government has announced a mandatory deployment plan starting April 1. Every circle or Anchal will have an officer stationed to handle essential land-related tasks. The administration claims that the strike will not stop important public services. The following services are expected to continue without any major interruption:
- Land Mutation (Dakhil-Kharij)
- Land records purification (Parimarjan)
- Electronic land measurement (e-Mapi)
- Issuance of various government certificates
