Bihar Transport Minister Shravan Kumar has announced a major crackdown on vehicles modified into DJ systems without permission. While addressing the Legislative Council in Patna on February 19, 2026, he stated that a special drive will begin within 15 days to identify and stop such illegal vehicles. The minister emphasized that no unauthorized DJ vehicles will be allowed on the roads, as they often violate safety norms and cause excessive noise pollution.

What are the new rules for DJ vehicles in Bihar?

The government is taking strict action against vehicles that have been structurally modified to fit large sound systems without approval. Under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, specifically Section 52, changing a vehicle’s structure without permission is illegal. Authorities will now check licenses and permits more rigorously.

If a vehicle is found operating with an unauthorized DJ setup, the owner could face heavy fines under Section 182(A). In severe cases, the vehicle’s registration may be cancelled under Section 55(5), and the equipment could be confiscated. The minister noted that while celebrations are important, public safety and law cannot be compromised.

Updates on Manpur Bus Stand and other announcements

Apart from the DJ crackdown, the minister addressed the delay in opening the newly built bus stand in Manpur, Gaya. The facility, constructed by BUDCO for an estimated ₹10.48 crore, is currently stalled due to a naming dispute between two local villages, Lakhanpura and Rasalpur. Shravan Kumar promised a speedy resolution to this matter so the public can start using the bus stand soon.

Additionally, the Transport Department has launched a campaign against high-decibel sound systems, linking the reporting mechanism to the Dial 112 emergency service. The minister also highlighted recent efforts to improve road safety awareness in over 77,000 schools across the state.
