BJP National President Nitin Nabin arrived in Patna on Tuesday, March 3, to participate in a grand Holi Milan ceremony. The event took place in the Raja Bazar area, where enthusiastic party workers welcomed him with drums, colors, and traditional songs. The celebration turned lively as supporters engaged in ‘Kurta Faad’ Holi, a boisterous tradition involving the tearing of clothes in jest, to mark the festive occasion.

Senior leaders, including Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and Patna Sahib MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, were present on the stage to share the joy. This event was significant as it was Nitin Nabin’s first Holi in Bihar after being appointed as the party’s National President in January 2026. The excitement was further fueled by the announcement of his nomination for the Rajya Sabha on the same day.

What happened at the Raja Bazar event?

The program was organized by Digha MLA Sanjeev Chaurasia to welcome the national leadership. During the festivities, workers surrounded Nitin Nabin and played with colors in high spirits, eventually tearing his kurta as part of the ‘Kurta Faad’ Holi tradition. Nitin Nabin described the moment as a “homecoming” and stated that the enthusiasm of the workers reflects the strength of the party.

Despite the restrictions on playing with colors due to the Lunar Eclipse on the evening of March 3, the BJP unit held their Milan ceremony earlier in the day. The police had also issued guidelines against loud music and obscene songs, but the political event proceeded with traditional drumming and cheering. Nitin Nabin is on a two-day visit to Patna and will return to Delhi on March 5 for his Rajya Sabha nomination filing.

Who attended the celebration?

The event saw a gathering of prominent BJP figures from the state. The presence of these leaders turned the local Holi Milan into a major political show of strength. The key attendees included:

  • Nitin Nabin: BJP National President
  • Samrat Choudhary: Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar
  • Ravi Shankar Prasad: Member of Parliament, Patna Sahib
  • Sanjay Saraogi: BJP MLA
