Discovery and Initial Response

The laborer alerted the hospital administration after finding the skeleton in pieces. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jayant Ahuja informed the police, who sent teams from SGM Nagar police station, Crime Branch, and Forensic Science to investigate the scene. The skeleton has been sent to ESIC Medical College for post-mortem and forensic examination.

Investigation Details

Authorities estimate the remains are approximately two years old, based on the tubewell room being locked for that duration. The gender of the deceased has not yet been determined. Police are reviewing missing person records from the past 2-3 years from SGM Nagar, NIT, and Dabua police stations. DNA testing is planned to match results with relatives of missing persons. Police are also scanning hospital surveillance footage as part of the investigation.

Possible Theories

Investigators are considering two possibilities: the remains may have been deliberately disposed of in the locked room, or the person may have died from natural causes or substance use without being discovered for an extended period.
