What was the case about? Let us tell you that a case came before the Delhi High Court where a total of 132 bottles of alcohol were found in a house. This included 51.8 liters of whisky, gin, rum, and vodka. Additionally, 55.4 liters of beer were also found in the house. The family in which the alcohol was found was a joint family with more than 6 members above the age of 25. According to the rules of the Delhi Excise Act, the quantity of alcohol is not a violation as long as it is within the limits set for the number of individuals. It is important to mention that this case dates back to 2009.
Police conducted a raid in this house. However, after the case came before the court, the FIR was cancelled. Moreover, the court prohibited any action against the accused. It should be noted that the Delhi Police conducted the raid at this family’s house in 2009 based on some confidential information. The police had alleged that illegal bottles of alcohol were being stored in this house. During the raid, the police found a total of 132 bottles of domestic and foreign brands of alcohol.
