A tragic incident has shocked the Mansoorpur village in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, where a 17-year-old boy shot and killed his 15-year-old girlfriend. The accused, identified as Vikki Kumar Sahni, committed the crime late Tuesday night because he suspected her of cheating on him. He had recently returned from Delhi and planned the attack after hearing rumors from a friend regarding her loyalty.

How did the accused plan the crime?

The police investigation revealed that the accused and the victim, Sonam Kumari, had been in a relationship for about two and a half years. Vikki had gone to Delhi for work four months ago. Upon his return, he allegedly received information that the girl was speaking to another boy. Driven by anger and suspicion, he decided to take this extreme step.

To carry out his plan, the minor accused confessed to purchasing a pistol for Rs 20,000. On the night of the incident, he took advantage of a wedding ceremony happening nearby. Loud DJ music was playing in the neighborhood, which he used as a cover. He entered the victim’s house stealthily while everyone was asleep and shot her in the head. The loud music muffled the sound of the gunshot, preventing the family from hearing the attack immediately.

Police investigation and arrest details

The police acted swiftly after the incident was reported. DSP Manoj Kumar Singh stated that the accused was apprehended while he was reportedly on his way to the police station but tried to flee after seeing a patrol vehicle. During questioning, he confessed to the murder and the purchase of the weapon.

  • Weapon Recovery: Police have recovered the pistol and a cartridge used in the killing.
  • Legal Action: An FIR has been lodged based on the family’s statement.
  • Age Verification: Since the accused is 17, police are verifying documents to determine the legal process.
  • Further Probe: Authorities are now tracing the source of the illegal weapon purchase.
