A tragic road accident in Nalanda district has resulted in the death of an ambulance driver on the Bihta-Sarmera highway. The incident occurred late Thursday night near Rampur Mor within the Bind police station limits. An unidentified speeding truck collided with the ambulance, leaving the vehicle completely wrecked and the driver dead on the spot. The police have started an investigation to catch the absconding truck driver.
Who was the victim and how did the accident occur?
The deceased driver has been identified as 38-year-old Munawwar, son of Hanif. He was a resident of Ishapur village in Phulwari Sharif, Patna district. Munawwar was returning to Patna from Lakhisarai when the accident took place. The collision was severe, and although locals rushed to help, he had already succumbed to his injuries due to the heavy impact of the crash.
What actions are the police taking?
The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the crash. Bind police station in-charge Chandan Kumar Singh stated that the body was sent for post-mortem and has been handed over to the family. The police are now examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to trace the truck and its driver. A formal FIR will be registered after the police receive a written complaint from the family.
