How will hospitals in Bihar change?
The Chief Minister has directed that block-level community health centers must be upgraded into Specialty Hospitals. He also ordered that district hospitals be developed into Super Speciality Hospitals as soon as possible. This move is intended to provide advanced medical care within the district so people do not have to travel far for treatment.
Nitish Kumar also spoke about using the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model for new medical colleges and hospitals. He believes this will help in providing better education and medical facilities. The government is also encouraging big private hospital groups to set up their branches in the state to strengthen the overall health infrastructure.
What are the new directives for Doctors?
To ensure better treatment in villages, the Chief Minister announced that special incentives will be arranged for doctors who serve in remote rural areas. This step is taken to motivate doctors to work in places where medical help is often scarce. Officials were also asked to create a policy to stop private practice by government doctors.
Nitish Kumar emphasized that doctors working for the government must prioritize state-run hospitals. The meeting was attended by senior officials including Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar and Health Department Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh. The focus remains on making healthcare accessible to the common man.
