Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited the Bihar Veterinary College campus in Patna on Saturday to inspect the newly constructed buildings. He looked at the new Directorate of Animal Husbandry and the State Level Resource and Training Centre. The visit aimed to check the arrangements made for farmers and livestock owners who will use these facilities for skill development.
How will this benefit farmers and livestock owners?
The new center is built to provide modern training and information to the farming community. Farmers can come here to learn about new techniques in animal husbandry which will help them increase their income. The Chief Minister emphasized that the state government is constantly working for the welfare of farmers. This project is part of a larger development plan for the Bihar Animal Sciences University campus, which involves funds totaling approximately ₹890 crore.
Key updates on jobs and student allowances
Along with the infrastructure boost, the government has shared important updates regarding education and employment in the state.
- Internship Allowance: Students at the Veterinary College will now receive a monthly allowance of ₹15,000.
- New Colleges: The government will open degree colleges in 213 blocks in the first phase, with classes starting in July 2026.
- Job Recruitment: The state administration aims to provide over 150,000 government jobs within the current year to support the youth.
