The police have identified the victims as Bittu Kumar and Pintu Kumar, who are residents of the Sheikhpura area. They had parked their Scorpio near Pushpanjali Apartment to have tea at a local stall. The attackers took advantage of the crowd and opened fire indiscriminately.
Initial investigations by the police point towards a personal conflict. Sadar SDPO-2 Ranjan Kumar stated that the attack seems to be the result of a year-old rivalry. The police have identified the suspects as Arman and Karu, who fled the spot on a bike after the shooting.
