Train Timings and Route Details

The daily train service operates under two numbers for its up and down journeys. The train consists of 24 coaches, including 22 general class coaches, and operates primarily as an unreserved service. The operational schedule is as follows:

  • Train 55515 (Patna to Thawe): Departs Patna Junction daily at 12:10 PM and arrives at Thawe at 7:00 PM.
  • Train 55516 (Thawe to Patna): Departs Thawe daily at 8:05 PM and arrives at Patna Junction at 3:20 AM the following morning.
  • Key Route Halts: Phulwari Sharif, Patliputra, Digha Bridge Halt, Dighwara, Goldinganj, and Gopalganj.

Fare and Commuter Benefits

The most significant advantage of this new service is its affordability for the common public. Passengers will only have to pay between Rs 105 and Rs 110 for the entire 175 km journey. Railway officials highlighted that this is highly economical compared to road travel, where bus tickets for the same route cost around Rs 500. Tickets can be easily purchased at unreserved ticketing counters or through the UTS mobile app. The launch is perfectly timed for pilgrims planning to visit the Thawe Bhawani Temple during the upcoming Chaitra Navratri festival.

Strict Actions for Punctuality

To maintain the scheduled timings of newly launched services like the Patna-Thawe passenger train, the railway administration is taking strict measures. The Sonepur division of East Central Railway recently intensified its drive against illegal alarm chain pulling. During this operation, 45 individuals were arrested to ensure trains run on time without unnecessary delays. Additional Divisional Railway Manager Rajiv Kumar and other senior commercial managers were present during the launch event to ensure smooth operations moving forward.
