The NIA and central agencies have intensified their investigation into the Samir Shooter case following the recovery of sensitive data. Samir was arrested for allegedly leaking information about India’s security infrastructure to Pakistani intelligence agents. A mobile phone seized from his relative’s residence in Bhagalpur has revealed that he sent GPS locations and videos of strategic sites to his handlers. Authorities are now tracking his associates across Bihar, Jharkhand, and Jammu-Kashmir.

Key Findings from the Mobile Data Forensic Report

  • Samir Shooter sent photos and videos of military bases, equipment factories, and airports to his handler Sarfraz in Pakistan
  • The network conducted recce of important religious sites including Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar
  • Investigation shows that the accused used Hindu names and appearances to avoid detection during spying activities
  • The network reportedly involves over 150 members who were recruited through social media and financial lures
  • Technical forensic reports confirm that Samir was trained to shoot and store sensitive videos securely before transmission

Legal Action and Network Associates Involved

The authorities have registered a case under the Official Secrets Act and the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). Apart from Samir, his associate Naushad and a woman named Mira are also under investigation for their roles in the network. Mira is allegedly linked to illegal pistol smuggling operations. Bhagalpur SSP Pramod Kumar Yadav mentioned that the local police are working closely with central agencies to dismantle the sleeper cells. The probe has also established links with terror outfits in the Kashmir Valley where Samir was planned to travel for further recce missions.
