Firoz was rushed to Sadar Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
What led to the murder of Firoz Ansari?
- Preliminary investigations and local sources indicate that the murder is connected to a dispute over the illegal liquor trade in the region.
- A friend of the victim, Sonu Sah, was riding the bike with Firoz when the attackers struck. Sonu managed to escape the firing unharmed.
- Sonu revealed to the police that a similar firing incident had taken place at Firoz’s house just two days earlier on March 11.
- The attackers shot Firoz in the head and stomach, which caused his death on the way to the medical facility.
How are the Siwan police handling the investigation?
The local police have registered the case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for murder and the Arms Act. Because of the suspected link to the alcohol trade, the provisions of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act are also being looked into.
SP Puran Kumar Jha stated that a special team led by SDPO Ajay Kumar Singh and SHO Mohan Prasad Singh is tracking all possible leads and analyzing mobile data. The police have completed the post-mortem and are currently conducting raids to arrest the suspects.
