Western Railway has brought good news for passengers planning to travel between Gujarat and Bihar during the upcoming Holi festival season. To manage the heavy rush of passengers, the railway administration has decided to run unreserved special trains between Udhna Junction in Surat and Hasanpur Road. These special services will operate on a weekly basis throughout February and March 2026. This move is expected to provide major relief to workers and families traveling to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar who often struggle to find seats in regular trains.

This train connects several important cities across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. It is designed to help people reach their hometowns comfortably. The train will consist entirely of General Second Class coaches, meaning there are no reserved sleeper or AC coaches. It serves as a vital link for the industrial workforce in Surat.

Key Stations where the train will halt include:

  • Gujarat/Maharashtra: Chalthan, Bardoli, Nandurbar, Bhusaval.
  • Madhya Pradesh: Khandwa, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Katni, Satna.
  • Uttar Pradesh: Manikpur, Prayagraj Chheoki, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction.
  • Bihar: Buxar, Ara, Danapur, Patliputra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur.

How to Book Tickets

Since these are unreserved trains, you do not need to book tickets months in advance. Passengers can purchase tickets directly from the station counters before the journey. To avoid long queues at the station, railway officials have advised using the UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) App on your mobile phone to buy tickets. Passengers should reach the station well in time to board the train safely, as a high number of travelers is expected during the Holi period.
