An audio clip went viral on social media, accusing appointed police officers in Bhagwan Bazaar Thana of collaborating with the sand mafia to extort money illegally from sand-laden trucks passing through Dial 112 vans. SP Gaurav Mangla initiated an investigation into the viral audio clip, which was found to be true, leading to the suspension of the police officers involved.
Action Against Corrupt Policemen
SP Gaurav Mangla suspended a total of 8 police officers in Chhapra, including the Avar Nireekshak, Assistant Avar Nireekshak, and constables, who were found guilty of aiding the sand mafia. The Saran police have been working towards zero tolerance for corruption, and they urge the public to report any corrupt officers for swift action.
