Anant Singh, former MLA of Mokama and also known as Bahubali, was released from Beur Jail in Patna on Sunday. After receiving a green signal from the Home Department, Anant Singh was granted parole for 15 days. His supporters were very enthusiastic upon hearing the news of his release. Anant Singh has been in jail for almost 5 years due to various criminal charges, including possession of AK-47, for which he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Since then, he has been serving his sentence in Beur Jail in Patna.

The reason behind Anant Singh’s parole was related to a family dispute, for which he had requested the court to grant him parole. The Home Department issued the order for his parole after the court granted his request. When Anant Singh was being released on 15 days parole from Beur Jail on Sunday morning, the security inside and outside the jail was tightened. Anant Singh’s wife, Neelam Singh, is currently an MLA of the RJD party. Bihar is currently undergoing Lok Sabha elections, with the fourth phase scheduled for voting in Munger on the 13th.
