Former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren’s Sister Anjani Soren to Contest Elections
Anjani Soren, the daughter of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) founder Shibu Soren, has been officially announced as the candidate for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 from Mayurbhanj, Odisha. She had also contested the previous elections from the same seat. JMM has fielded her against BJP’s Naba Charan Majhi and BJD’s Sudam Marndi, making the competition quite interesting.
Previous Defeat for Anjani Soren
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Anjani Soren contested from Mayurbhanj but secured the third position with 1,35,552 votes. She faced defeat against BJP’s Bisweshwar Tudu who won with 42.1% of the votes. This time, BJP has replaced Tudu with Naba Charan Majhi, setting up an intriguing battle in the upcoming elections.
Political Developments in the Soren Family
With former CM Hemant Soren currently in jail due to alleged involvement in a land scam, his sister-in-law Seeta Soren has joined BJP and will contest from Dumka. Hemant’s wife Kalpana Soren has also entered politics and will contest in the Gomia Assembly by-election. These developments have added a new dimension to the political scenario in Jharkhand.

पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री हेमंत सोरेन की बहन और झामुमो संस्थापक शिबू सोरेन की बेटी अंजनी सोरेन ने लोकसभा चुनाव 2024 के लिए उम्मीदवारी दाखिल की है। उन्हें ओडिशा की मयूरभंज सीट से टिकट मिला है। इस बार उनका मुकाबला भाजपा के नबा चरण माझी और बीजद के सुदाम मरांडी से होगा। पिछले बार भी उन्होंने मयूरभंज सीट से मैदान में उतरा था और तीसरे स्थान पर रहे थे। हेमंत सोरेन की गिरफ्तारी के बाद उनकी पत्नी कल्पना सोरेन और भाभी सीता सोरेन भी राजनीति में उतरी है। सीता को झामुमो ने दुमका लोकसभा सीट से उम्मीदवार बनाया है। यहां तक कि कल्पना को झारखंड का नया सीएम बनाने की भी चर्चा हो रही है। जेल में बंद होने के बाद हेमंत सोरेन की पत्नी कल्पना सोरेन ने गांडेय विधानसभा उपचुनाव के लिए भी उम्मीदवारी दाखिल की है। चंपाई सोरेन को मुख्यमंत्री की कुर्सी मिली है।
