**Heinous Crime in Betiya**
In Betiya, a horrific incident has come to light where a group of individuals committed a collective crime against an 8th-grade student. The student was returning home after taking her annual exam for the 8th grade. Near the Jabdaul canal, four boys collectively committed the crime against the minor student on Thursday afternoon around 2:30 pm.
**Assault and Escape**
During the incident, the perpetrators of the crime also physically assaulted the student. After committing the crime, they fled the scene. The student’s condition is critical, and she is currently undergoing treatment at GMSCH in Betiya. The doctors treating her have mentioned that she has serious injuries on her face, and stitches have been applied. The police from the Kumarbagh station admitted the student to GMSCH with the help of her family members.
**Victim’s Family and Villagers**
The mother of the student admitted to GMSCH mentioned that her daughter had gone to a school located about 1.5 kilometers away from the village to take her annual exam in the morning. Upon reaching the Jabdaul canal, she was surrounded by Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Dube Tola village, and three of his friends who took her to a bamboo grove and assaulted her one by one. The villagers and family members stated that the student was left unconscious at the scene for nearly an hour.
**Police Investigation**
The Superintendent of GMSCH, Dr. Sudha Bharti, informed that the student was admitted to the hospital in an unconscious state with deep wounds on her face and neck. Stitches were applied to her lips as well. Meanwhile, the station in-charge, Devendra Kumar, mentioned that two suspects are currently in custody and are being interrogated. The villagers had accused the police of delayed response despite the crime scene being only about 2.5 kilometers away from the station. The investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the crime.
