Introduction
The concept of smart villages has emerged after the success of smart cities in India. Bihar is also embracing the idea of smart villages, with the first smart village being developed in Banka district. The construction work has already begun in the Babar Chak area under the Rajoun block, where 162 landless families will be resettled. These families are survivors of the 1989 Bhagalpur riots, which left them homeless and displaced. The development of the first smart village in Bihar is considered a historic milestone, with district officials closely monitoring and overseeing the project.
Development of Smart Village
Spread across 11 acres, the smart village in Babar Chak is set to provide housing, education, healthcare, and employment opportunities to its residents. The village is being built on government land that was once a bustling settlement but was abandoned after the Bhagalpur riots. The vacant land is now being transformed into a vibrant community, offering a fresh start to the minority community members who were forced to relocate to other areas. The ongoing development under the Agniveer scheme is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Sustainable Infrastructure and Employment Opportunities
The Banka district administration proposed the idea of a smart village to the Bihar government in 2023, leading to the rapid development of the Babar Chak smart village. Besides providing essential amenities like schools, hospitals, markets, and community centers, the village will also focus on creating employment opportunities for its residents. The construction of Prime Minister’s housing units and the establishment of training centers are part of the employment generation efforts in the village. By ensuring connectivity and accessibility, the smart village aims to improve the quality of life for its inhabitants.
बिहार के बांका जिले में पहली बार स्मार्ट विलेज का कॉन्सेप्ट लाया गया है जहां रजौन प्रखंड के पास बाबर चक में यह विलेज बनाया जा रहा है। इस विलेज में 162 भूमिहीन परिवारों को बसाया जाएगा और यहां उन्हें शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य, रोजगार और अन्य सुविधाएं मिलेंगी। इस साल के अंत तक स्मार्ट विलेज तैयार होने की संभावना है और लोगों को भी रोजगार के अवसर प्रदान किए जाएंगे। यहां कई प्रशिक्षण केंद्र भी खोले जाएंगे जिससे ग्रामीणों को और भी विकास के अवसर मिलें।
