Bihar Government’s Education Budget
The Bihar government allocates a significant portion of its budget to education, but despite this, the state’s education system is in poor condition. In the 21st century, with discussions about colonizing Mars and the world becoming increasingly globalized, there is still a village in the Rajoun block of Banka district that is lagging behind in development. In Musahari village in Nawada, where 300 families reside, not a single person has completed their matriculation, highlighting the lack of literacy in the area.
Lack of Basic Education
Even after having schools in the village, children are unable to receive an education. The Anganwadi center, middle, and high schools in the vicinity are inaccessible to the children. The community members express their desire for children to receive education and excel in life, but the lack of basic education hinders their progress. The absence of primary education leaves children deprived of higher education opportunities, leading to a cycle of underachievement and wandering.
Educational Deprivation in the Musahari Community
The Musahari community leader, Ashok Manjhi, reveals that the younger generation lacks literacy skills and is detached from education. Despite claims of abolishing untouchability, the community still faces discrimination due to educational deprivation. Poverty and hunger are identified as the primary reasons behind the lack of education in the community, as economic instability prevents children from receiving a proper education. The government overlooks their plight, and even after independence, the community continues to live a life of servitude.
